Solar PV Panels Newcastle Tyne and Wear

Free electricity for shops in Newcastle from landlord’s solar photovoltaic panels

The landlord of a number of shops in Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne contacted Geowarmth to install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof of the shops in order that he could earn the Feed In Tariff and his tenants would benefit from the electricty produced.

The south facing roof orientation made the site ideal for generating in solar energy.  Working on scaffolding above a busy pavement  meant that health and safety was particularly important during the installation.  From the panels on the slate roof, connections were made to distribution boards in the various shops below.

Commercial premises can invariably use all of the electricty produced by a solar PV system since the buildings are usually fully occupied during the day so it makes them ideal for solar electricity.

The landlord was particularly impressed with Geowarmth’s work.  So much so that he then asked Geowarmth to install solar PV on the roof of his private house.
