Heat pumps Manchester
New secure hospital unit in North West has two Dimplex heat pumps installed by renewables specialist Geowarmth
A secure hospital unit in Manchester has two Dimplex ground source heat pumps installed to provide ground source heating for the underfloor system. Geowarmth measured the conductivity of the grounds. Manchester and Lancashire geology can often comprise Coal Measures strata and beneath the sands and clay some coal was encountered in the sequences of mudstone. The established conductivity was in line with expected results and determined the need for 20 boreholes to be drilled in the Manchester hospital grounds.
The boreholes were connected to the heat pumps via preformed 10 port manifold chambers. As well as the two heat pumps Geowarmth also installed a buffer tank in the plant room which is needed with a ground source heat pump and a heat meter which allows the client to enjoy the benefits of income from the Renewable Heat Incentive. The heat pumps are now delivering up to 90kW of heat to the underfloor heating system.
As well as this Manchester scheme, Geowarmth have undertaken many renewables installations in the North West including projects in Liverpool, Bolton, Blackburn, Preston, Morecambe and throughout Lancahire and Cumbria.
